Foster Parents Need You On Their Team!
It has been broadly stated that the American foster care system is in crisis. The crisis can be simply understood as suffering in capacity, stability and quality. NorthPark currently has several licensed foster families in various stages including adoption, no open beds, no longer accepting placements, and open beds. CompaCare helps reduce that stress and improve outcomes. It empowers a very important, and often missing element, to achieve betterment through an unequaled volunteer resource known as the Church. It teaches the church how to provide a support system for foster families inside the church and in the community!

NorthPark Church is partnering with CompaCare to offer an opportunity for you to learn about foster care & the best ways we can support local foster families on July 24 from 8:30 am until 11:30am. Please register, even if you can’t attend on July 24, by contacting Lee & Gretchen Watson at:http://www.frontlinefamilies.net or 601-778-8019 For more information visit their website at
http://www.frontlinefamilies.net

Here are five reasons NorthPark is partnering with Compacare:
   1.  It is a practical way to care for the orphan, widow or other vulnerable persons. (James 1:27)
   2.  It helps church leaders apply Ephesians 4:11-12 by providing practical ways to “equip the
saints for the work of the ministry.”

   3.  It is evidence-based. Research has shown a significant increase in foster care outcomes when
        this partnership is wisely applied.
   4.  It is local church led and gives the church a voice to impact their community.
   5.  It helps resolve the foster care crisis by increasing capacity, promoting placement stability,
and thereby increasing foster care quality.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. This fall Anne King will once again be leading this 13 week ministry to help and support those grieving the loss of a loved one. They will be meeting in room 102 each Monday night from 6:30 to 8:00 pm starting August 23rd through November 15th. Each week the GriefShare group will watch a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies, dramatic reenactments, and on-location video. After viewing the video, there will be a time of group discussion providing further insight, encouragement and support. During the week each participant will have the opportunity to use a personal workbook for further study of the grieving process and to help sort through their emotions through journaling. For more information, visit the GriefShare website at https://www.griefshare.org Please help us spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers who may benefit from this community program.

Reminder: The month of July there will be no Kids Connection (Kindergarten-Grade 6) during the 10:45 worship service. This will give our families an opportunity to worship together and our faithful volunteers some time off to be in adult worship. Nursery and preschool classes will be staffed and available.

For His Glory, Pastor Greg

I have been through GriefShare twice and highly recommend it! The videos and workbooks are really good, but the best part was connecting with people who'd either experienced loss of a loved one or were going through the grieving process now. The experience was a big help to me.
