PRAYER GUIDE
The Search Team is having some conversations with potential candidates interested in the position of Lead Pastor here at NorthPark. They are asking the church family to continue in daily prayer for this crucial process. Here is a helpful prayer guide to focus and unify our prayers as we seek the Father’s guidance and provision. Thank you for your partnership in this vital and ongoing ministry of prayer.

Our Search Team: Kay Stewart, Jonathan Sisson, Brad Anthony, Donna Wheatly, Todd Mathis, Dwight Watts, & Tyler Hughes
1. Pray for wisdom & discernment as they process names and interact with applicants and
    referrals.
2. Pray for candidness & clarity as they delve into deeper conversations with candidates.
3. Prayer for confirmation & favor as they make recommendations to the Governance Board,
    Staff, & congregation.

The Search Process: The search process involves a series of conversations, assessments, references, and on-site visits.
1. Pray for clear connections & communication as they interact through various social media and
    online platforms.
2. Pray for accurate & helpful information gleaned from the assessments and references.
3. Pray for safety in travel for those on-site visits.

Lead Pastor & their family: The decision to move involves lots of issues and individuals, not just the candidate.
1. Pray for insight & courage as they discuss and consider a move.
2. Pray for confirmation & agreement among their immediate family members.
3. Pray for understanding & support from extended family and close friends.
4. Pray for the housing situation on both ends of their move. (Sale & purchase or rental)

Our church leaders & family: NorthPark has been through a number of transitions over a short period of time in the midst of a pandemic.
1. Pray for patience & continued provision as we navigate this season of uncertainty together.
2. Pray for discernment, confirmation, & unity as a candidate is announced and considered.
3. Pray for a smooth transition from Interim to Lead Pastor.
4. Pray for our church staff as they get to know a new Lead Pastor and make the necessary
    adjustments

Their church leaders & family: As we know, the departure of a Pastor can be traumatic and difficult for a church.
•  Pray the announcements to the church leaders & congregation will be clear and positive.
•  Pray their response will be one of gratitude & affirmation.
•  Pray for God to orchestrate the next chapter in their faith journey as they seek an Interim or new
    Lead Pastor.

SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES: Sunday, August 18th
This Sunday we will be resuming our Sunday School hour which runs from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. There will be age-appropriate classes for children, a youth class, and several adult offerings. PARENTS, please arrive a little early to check-in your children at the Kids Connection desk. At this time, we will be offering the following adult classes:
Young Marrieds taught by Tyler Hughes meeting in room 209.
•  Raising Cain & Abby (RCA) taught by Kay Stewart & Linda Weir meeting in room104.
Touching Lives for Christ (TLC) taught be Tony Pompelia meeting in room 207.
•  Friends & Believers taught by Donna Wheatley meeting in room 205.
•  Christian Homebuilders taught by Dwight Watts & Dan Petersen meeting in room 208.
•  Welcome to NorthPark taught by Pastor Greg meeting in the Chapel.
Obviously, moving into smaller rooms, we will need to maintain some basic safety protocols to minimize risks and maximize confidence which each adult class will determine and monitor independently. NorthPark has been extremely blessed and protected from any significant outbreaks or cases. We need to continue to pray for protection and exercise caution as we resume more intimate gatherings.

HISTORY NIGHT: Sunday, April 25th
Next Sunday evening we will be gathering in the Celebration Center at 5:00 PM for a shared meal and some directed conversations as we reminisce together about God’s faithfulness through the years. Childcare for nursery and preschoolers will be available after the meal and we need you to register by Wednesday, April 21st at www.northpark.church under “Events”, on a Connection Card, at the Welcome Center, or by calling the church office. We need to know the total number attending and the number of nursery and preschoolers needing childcare. You are encouraged to bring pictures, scrapbooks, and directories to display and will be invited to post some of your special memories, both the joys and the sorrows, you have experienced at Parkview and/or NorthPark Church of God. Don’t miss this incredible family experience.

For His Glory,  Pastor Greg
