Our world says hope is the desire for some good in the future and the wish that it might come true. That means it’s all based on a combination of our performance, circumstances and good luck. But the overall message of the Bible says hope is the desire for God’s goodness and will for our future and the expectation that He will fulfill it. That means it’s not something we create. It comes from the outside. It’s all based on the character and promises of God. Hope believes Jesus’ YES even when your circumstances say NO.
